HOME EXTERIOR PAINTING

Exterior Painting protects the building from environmental elements such as rain, wind, and sunlight, which can cause damage over time.

1. Surface preparation

Thoroughly clean the surface to be painted to remove dirt, grime, mildew or mold, loose paint, and other debris. We  believe is necessary to pressure wash before painting so your new paint will stay for a long time.

2. Fill any cracks or holes with caulk or wood filler, and sand rough areas to create a smooth surface.

3. Choose the right paint: Select a high-quality paint suitable for exterior surfaces that can withstand harsh weather conditions. It's recommended to use a paint with a mildew-resistant coating, UV protection, and formulated for the specific type of surface to be painted.

4. Protect surrounding areas: Cover or mask off windows, doors, trim, and other surfaces that won't be painted to prevent overspray or drips. Also, protect the ground with drop cloths or plastic sheeting to catch any paint drips or spills.

5. Apply primer: If the surface is bare or has previously unpainted patches, apply a coat of primer to promote better adhesion and create a consistent base for the paint. Allow the primer to dry completely before painting.

6. Measure and mix paint: Accurately measure the paint needed for the entire project and mix the cans together to ensure color consistency.

7. Apply paint: Start by painting the trim, edges, and corners using a brush or small roller. Then, use a paint sprayer or large roller to apply the paint evenly to the rest of the surface. Work in small sections, blending each section into the previous one while the paint is still wet.

8. Allow to dry: Give the paint ample time to dry according to the manufacturer's recommendations before applying a second coat if needed.
